With district play for area girls prep teams set to finish by Feb. 4,  a couple of Parker County teams have already reserved a playoff spot, and will focus on finishing out respective slates undefeated.

Aledo appears headed for a district finale showdown at Trimble Tech, as they beat the Fort Worth team by four in the first round, the Ladycats’ closest contest in district.

Brock’s Lady Eagles also look to close out a relatively unchallenged district season by holding serve in their final three contests.

The Poolville girls are secure in second place in District 11-1A, DI, and will try to get a share of the title when undefeated Santo visits next week.

Springtown needs another win to clinch a playoff seed, but will vie for a more desirable bracket spot in their final four games, with four spots available in the brackets this year for Class 3A districts.

Peaster, currently tied with Boyd in Fourth place, may need some help to move ahead of Alvord in District 9-2A, to get to the third slot.

Weatherford suffered a setback on Tuesday when North Crowley “upset” Arlington Lamar and the Lady Roos fell to district-leading Bowie. The WHS girls will try to pick up an “extra” win or at least keep the one-game deficit behind North Crowley to set up a fourth-seed play-in in the finale on Feb. 4.
