Bearcats making up for lost time; lead 49-7 at halftime

— Nearly midway through the opening quarter in a Class 4A quarterfinal match against Wichita Falls at Waxahachie's Lumpkin Stadium, Aledo's Daythan Davis finished a Bearcats drive with a 3-yard plunge, which opened the floodgates for the Aledo offense. With subsequent TDs on a Luke Bishop to Ryan Newsome pass, a 1-yard run by Jess Anders and blocked punt recovery in the end zone, the Bearcats held a 28-0 lead at the end of the first period.

Wichita Falls scored on the first play of the second quarter, but the Coyotes' respite was short-lived as Aledo reeled off three more TDs, to take a 49-7 lead into the break.
