Weatherford competes at state wrestling meet

— The Weatherford boys and girls wrestling teams headed east on Friday and Saturday to compete in the UIL State Wrestling Championships, held at Garland ISD's Curtis Culwell Center.

The Center was a flurry of activity with eight competition mats set up on the gymnasium floor to accomodate male and female competitors in Class 4A and Class and 24 weight divisions.

The competition was an all-day affair both days, with early-morning weigh-ins and bouts lasting well past dark.

Weatherford took two girls and two boys who were placed in the brackets, as well as two more wrestlers on-hand as alternates.
