Roo squad earns runner-up finish at Broken Arrow

The Roo Baseball 10-U team recently traveled to Broken Arrow, Okla. after earning the chance to compete in the USSSA 10-U AA Boys World Series tournament. At the conclusion of tournament pool play, the Roos earned a No.1 overall seed and began bracket play which produced 28 games among 13 teams in a double elimination format. 

The boys competed against teams from Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma, ultimately finished as tournament runners up, with a tournament record of 7-2. 

After Opening Day ceremonies, the boys competed in skills competitions consisting of a home run derby, base-running relay and an around the horn throwing challenge. Competing against a dozen other teams, Roo Baseball won first place in the base-running relay and took second in the around-the-horn throwing challenge. 

For their efforts, the boys were rewarded with a glass-globe trophy from the United States Sports Specialty Association as the 2013 AA 10-U Runner-Up Champions. 

The tourney concluded the Roos’ season, with a final overall record of 39-14-2. The season produced a tournament championship, a tournament runner-up title,  and an undefeated slate in Pony Elite league play for the Southwest Fort Worth division.
