Dorris (Weatherford) entered the spring holding a 3.18 GPA in communication studies at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. He posted a record-setting season out of the bullpen for the Islanders, posting a school record with his 13 saves on the year. He led the Southland in both saves and appearances on the season and was named to the National College Baseball Writers Association’s Stopper of the Year Watch List. His 2.36 ERA was best among all Islanders pitchers.
Lee (Houston) held a 3.03 grade point average in finance heading into the spring semester to earn second team honors. The sophomore earned honorable mention from the Southland on their All-Conference Teams, hitting .307 on the year for the Islanders. The Cy Creek grad stepped up his game in league play, posting a .323 average and a .439 on-base percentage in Southland action. He hit safely in 14 of his last 16 games, including a stretch of six games with at least two base knocks.
