Roo tracksters advance to Region I meet

Weatherford track & field ran in the Class 5A, Region I, Area meet on Friday, which was held at Coppell High School. The Roo athletes were those advancing from the District 3-5A meet held recently at Kangaroo Stadium, with the goal of qualifying for the regional meet. 

Weatherford will be well-represented at the Region I competition, which will be held in Lubbock, at the Fuller Track & Field Complex on the Texas Tech University campus, on Friday and Saturday.

    Apparently being lauded for, among other coaching triumphs during the prep baseball season, Class 4A mentors Chad Barry (Aledo) and  Wes Kolle (Victoria East) shared the honors of Coach of the Year as selected by the Texas Sports Writers Association (TSWA)in an announcement released on Wednesday.
