Regs bring home Series' second place trophy

— Staff Report

The Texas Regulators brought home the runner-up champion trophy at the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) Global World Series event held in Gulf Shores, Ala., last week.

The 30-team tournament was unfortunately shortened, due to inclement weather during the closing days of the tourney. On the strength of the Regulators’ 4-0 tournament pool play record (with just seven runs allowed), the Weatherford-based team was selected as runner up to the East Cobb Braves out of Georgia.

The 11-U Regulators finished their season with a 26-8 record in USSSA play. The Regulators received USSSA rings and a bronze trophy as recognition of their accomplishments.
