Editor’s Note: This is the second installment of a five-part pictorial series, taking a look back at some of the notable news and events of 2013 for Parker County sports.

(March through May)

> After a long tenure as the boys’ basketball coach at Brock High School, Jeff Bell leaves to take the head coaching position  at Waco Midway. Bell had taken the Eagles to two consecutive Class 2A state tourneys, falling to White Oak both times.

> For the first time in Weatherford College athletics history, two players from the same team were named All-Americans. Freshman WC basketball players Bre’ Brooks and Itiana Taylor received the honors for the 2012-13 season.

> WC softball upped the ante for All-Americans selected from the same team when three Lady Coyotes were named to the NJCAA rosters. In only its second season, the WC women advanced to the National Tournament. Named All-Americans were catcher Kortney Koroll, pitcher Kylee Studioso and shortstop Katy Vandewater.
