PCTA team headed to Sectional tourney

— Staff Report

The Parker County Outlaws competed in the Regional Team Tennis competition recently, in Rockwall.

Playing against a talented Lufkin team, the Outlaws lost 9-6 in a well-played event. The contentious effort earned the Outlaws an at-large invitation to the Sectional Tournament (State) in San Antonio, May 18-19.

Qualifiers from the state tourney will determine national entrees for the 18-Intermediate Team. The Outlaws are sponsored by the Parker County Tennis Association (PCTA) and will attend the Sectional event courtesy of Imperial Construction Company, who has donated funds to cover the cost of sending the team to San Antonio.

The PCTA is a 501c3 organization dedicated to promoting tennis in Parker County.
