The Weatherford College softball team dominated Cisco College last weekend, winning 8-1 and 16-1 in a road doubleheader. The Coyotes (36-3 overall, 19-1 in conference play) have won 13 straight games and 17 out of their last 18.
In game one, a two-run single by Samantha Alegria and an RBI triple from Luci Ponce led to a three-run fourth inning. Alegria racked up three RBIs on two hits for WC.
Kylee Studioso had no problem with the Wranglers’ lineup, racking up nine strikeouts in a 5-hit outing.
Game two saw 13 WC runs in the first three innings and allowed the Coyotes to put the game away early.
Bailee Wortham allowed one run over 4 1/3 innings in the circle. Wortham tossed a 4-hitter and helped her own cause with an RBI double at the plate.
Cisco errors negated any comeback, and the game was called early in the fifth inning due to the 10-run rule.
