Area sports schedule — Week of Jan. 28

Busy, busy, busy! — with lots going on this week and several notable events in the offing. 

Weatherford and Springtown wrestling compete in their respective district tourneys on Saturday, hoping to see many matsters head to regionals.

Aledo basketball provides a rare varsity double header, with the girls’ and boys’ teams hosting Granbury in district matches on Friday. It will be Senior Night for the Ladycats. There are also Senior Nights to be celebrated for the Millsap varsities, as well as the Brock girls, on Friday.

District play begins for Weatherford teams on Friday, while Aledo and Springtown open district on Tuesday.

    “I just love the running,” Tharp said.
