A sweeping success

The Weatherford varsity volleyball team swept Arlington Sam Houston in their District 3-5A opener in Arlington on Friday. The WHS girls won, 25-17, 25-17, 26-24. 

Lexi Cassels, Emma Murphy led the offense with 12, 9 and 8 kills, respectively, while Lexi Garner added four kills and as many serving aces. Jordan Harvey set up most of the knockdowns, recording 19 assists. On defense, Garner dug out 11 incoming volleys. Cassels had nine digs, Murphy added eight and Chelsea Freeman and Harvey totalled seven each.

The Lady Roos host Arl. Martin on Tuesday, with a 6:30 p.m. start at Roo gymnasium.
