Turner sheds monkey with Pojo's playoff win over Hirschi

— WICHITA FALLS — Springtown head coach Brad Turner led the Springtown Porcupines to a Class 3A, Region I Bi-district win over the Wichita Falls Hirschi Huskies on Thursday, setting a milestone in the process by recording his first playoff victory since taking over the Springtown program. Up by a point at the end of the third period, the Porcupines dominated the fourth quarter against the Huskies and rolled to a 49-27 win.

Through the first three quarters of play, momentum shifts led to a leap-frog effect in scoring, but a healthy dose of Porcupine defense, and running back Ryan Snow's rushing on the other side of the ball quickly increased the margin in Springtown's favor. Pojo's defenders finally figured out the fast and talented Hirschi offense and shut them out in the final period.

As Bi-district champs, Springtown moves to the Area round and will meet the winner of the Stephenville-Brownwood bi-district match, to be played on Friday.
