Aledo dominates at TLC

ALLEN _ Aledo opened its 2013 football season on the right foot, rolling up 459 yards while  coasting to a 44-3 win over Highland Park Saturday night in the Tom Landry Classic.

The Bearcats had a balanced attack, rushing for 271 yards on the ground, paced by Daythan Davis, who rushed for 110 yards and three touchdowns. Davis capped a 65-yard opening drive with a 5-yard run less than five minutes into the contest. The early TD would be the only points the Bearcats would need.

The Aledo defense held the Scots to just 199 yards of offense. Aledo Coach Tim Buchanan was pleased with his squad’s performance.

“ Any time you can score 44 points on a quality program like Highland Park, it’s been a good night,” Buchanan said.

Aledo returns home Friday to face Stephenville.
