WC rodeo finishes fall season at Clarendon event

WEATHERFORD —  

  The Weatherford College rodeo team competed at the Clarendon, Frank Phillips and West Texas A&M Rodeo October 25-27.  The WC women’s team finished eighth while the men finished tenth out of the 15 teams that competed.

Landon Williams and former WC college nationals qualifier Cadee Tew won fifth in team roping and are ranked among the top five teams in the Southwest Region.  

Jared Parsonage placed for the second week in a row, picking up sixth place in bull riding. Kody Mahaffey is now on the board in three events winning eighth place in steer wrestling, and Grant Smalley made his first finals of the year, winning ninth in tie-down roping.

For the women, Savannah Todd won eighth place in breakaway roping, while Madison Ward and Kailey Reaves won eighth and tenth respectively in goat tying.

Rodeo is off until Feb. 28, when WC will join Ranger College in producing the first rodeo of the spring semester in Ranger.
