WC announces time change for Thursday matches with OBU

Staff Report

Originally set for a 6 p.m. start, the Weatherford College Lady Coyotes will host Oklahoma Baptist University’s JV squad at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, at the Betty Jo Crumm Graber Athletic Center.

The WC women have three more games scheduled before the holiday break, all at home. After Thursday’s tilt, WC will host East Texas Flight on Saturday and close out the calendar year at home on Dec. 7, meeting up against Dallas Diesel.

The WC men’s start time in their match vs. OBU JV will be at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.


Springtown, Aledo football head to Area rounds on Friday

Staff Report

Two Parker County teams remain in the hunt in UIL playoff brackets. Both will enter the next round in their respective classifications on Friday.

Springtown, who beat Wichita Falls Hirschi on Thursday, will meet the Class 3A defending state champion Stephenville Yellowjackets at Northwest ISD Stadium in a Region I Area playoff. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

Aledo is home team on Friday when they meet Saginaw Boswell’s Pioneers. The match is also set for 7:30 p.m., will be held at Birdville’s FAAC facility in North Richland Hills.

    The Aledo varsity girls golf team won the Class 4A Region I Golf Tournament in Abilene last week. The team of Cheyenne Knight, Taylor Brookshire, Savannah Moody, Quincy Ballard, and Taryn Pittman beat runner-up Byron Nelson by 48 strokes.
