The softball coaches of the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference (NTJCAC) have chosen seven Weatherford College student-athletes for the 2014 All-Conference team.
Jordan Griffith, Molly Holliday, Carlie Jenkins, and Alex Kovacs are first team selections. Kelbie Crelia, Aundria Zuniga-Romero and Lauren Gunter were named to the second team.
Griffith, a freshman infielder from Austin Westwood, hit .378 with a .439 slugging percentage in the 2014 season.
Holliday, a sophomore outfielder from Bosque Farms, N.M., had 27 stolen bases, two triples and hit .363.
Jenkins played infield as a sophomore this season, hitting .371 with a .570 slugging percentage, 10 doubles, seven triples and 16 stolen bases. She is a Rockwall native.
Kovacs is a Forney High School graduate who transferred to WC from McNeese State University. She hit .343 with a .510 slugging percentage and three home runs.
Crelia posted a 2.86 ERA, fourth in the NTJCAC. Zuniga-Romero recorded a 3.07 ERA and also hit .288 with a .525 slugging percentage.
Gunter, WC’s first All-Conference catcher, hit .294 with seven stolen bases and two home runs.
The WC women finished the season with a 30-23 overall record and a third consecutive berth in the Region V North Tournament.
