Henson sets new Poolville heights

Staff Report

Heather Henson continues to create new milestones for Poolville athletics.

The senior fought her way through four tough matches at the Class 1A, Region II tennis  tournament held at Abilene Christian University on Wednesday and Thursday, emerging as the girls’ singles champion. Henson’s feat marks the first time in school history a Poolville netter has won at regionals.

Heather will compete in the state tournament on Apr. 29-30, at Texas A&M in College Station.

Last year, the multi-sport Henson, comprising a PHS girls doubles tandem with teammate Bailey Duvall, became the first girls from Poolville’s tennis program to ever qualify for the state tourney. The pair medaled at the state meet.
