TCA track runs away with district title

WILLOW PARK — Trinity Christian Academy’s mens track team won the overall team title at the TCAF District Track Meet at Porcupine Stadium in Springtown Saturday. 

The TCA women also had a strong day and finished second. 

 In addition to the team titles, TCA men swept first, second and third in the 800 meter event. Daniel Clute, Will Myers, Brett Peterson, Margaret Neal and Nathan Chesney broke TCA school records in their events.  

“It is great to see their hard work paying off,” said TCA track coach Coach Bryan Ruiz. 

The two Trinity Christian teams will compete for state titles in the TCAF State Track Meet April 13 at Porcupine Stadium. Field events begin at 10 a.m. and running events begin at 2 p.m. Live results and live video of the meet can be found at  www.porcupinestadium.com.

District meet results:

100-meter dash: Noah Hertel, 1st place, 11.64

200-meter dash: Noah Hertel, 1st place, 24.33

Triple jump: Nathan Chesney, 1st place, 37-10

Pole vault: Daniel Clute, 1st place, 10-00

800-meter dash: Will Myers, 1st place, 2:09

1600-meter run: Will Myers, 1st place, 4:55

110-meter hurdles: Zac DeLaCruz, 1st place, 18.34

3200-meter run: Brett Peterson, 1st place, 11:15

300-meter hurdles: Landon Bell, 1st place, 47.05

4X100 men’s relay: Daniel Hoffman, Nathan Chesney, Zac DeLaCruz and Noah Hertel, 1st place, 47.18

4X400 men’s relay: Nathan Chesney, Daniel Clute, David Morrell and Landon Bell, 1st place, 4:01

Discus: Margaret Neal, 1st place, 83-01

Shot put: 1st place, 27-06

800-meter run: Cori Ford, 1st place, 2:39

1600-meter run: Cori Ford, 1st place, 6:22

4X200 women’s relay: Micah O’Bannon, Margaret Neal, Mackenzie Wingate and Shauna Ritchey, 1st place
