CISCO, Tex. – The Weatherford College baseball team swept Cisco College on the road Wednesday, 5-4 and 13-3. WC has won six of its last seven North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference (NTJCAC) matches, and with six games remaining is in a good position to nab a conference tourney berth.
The Coyotes (28-21 overall, 13-13 in NTJCAC play) made the most of five hits in game one. Freshman Quinton Rohrbaugh went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Tejay Antone allowed just two runs on four hits over six innings, including seven strikeouts.
Scotland Church racked up six RBIs on four hits in game two, including a triple, a single, and two doubles. WC pounded three Cisco pitchers with 18 hits. Coyote pitcher Brandon Boone earned the win with three runs on four hits over six innings. WC pitchers struck out 12 Wrangler batters; seven from Boone and five from reliever Chaz Fowler.
The WC men face Cisco again on Saturday at Roger Williams Ballpark with a 1 p.m. start for the double header. The 2004 Coyotes conference championship team will be recognized as part of their 10-year reunion celebration.
