Weatherford’s Class 5A Region I Bi-district opponent, site and time are yet to be announced.
Trimble Tech 2, Aledo 0
ALEDO — The Bearcats came up on the short end of a pitching duel on Friday, with a rare silence from the Aledo bats as they dropped a 2-0 decision to Fort Worth Trimble Tech.
Though the errors did not cost the Bearcats any earned runs, they uncharacteristically created three in the match while the Bulldogs D was more proficient.
Dakota Durant was an offensive bight spot for Aledo as he went 2-for-3 at the plate. But the Bearcats hitters could not string together hits for a rally.
Despite being strapped with the loss, starting hurler Carter Cammack had an impressive outing, surrendering just three hits and one earned run with a lone walk, while striking out eight Bulldog hitters in six innings of work.
Colton Clanton took over the final three outs in relief.
A hit batsman and a walk put the tying run at first wit two outs in Aledo’s final at bat, but Tech start Pedro Cuellar recorded his ninth strikeout of the night to close out the Bearcats.
Brock 11, Ponder 0
BROCK — With the wicked stuff Brock senior Colby Fowler was offering up to Ponder hitters on Friday in the teams’ District 9-2A finale. The Eagles did not need a whole lot of offense — but they got more than enough, anyway.
Fowler fanned 13 hitters, striking out the side twice in five innings and allowed just three hits in Brock’s 11-0 win, as the Eagles finished up the district slate at 14-0.
Offensively, Jansen Ivie hit for a double and a triple, logging four RBIs, while Jordan Andrae went 3-for-3 and added two more RBIs. Making efficient use of getting on base, Ethan Roberts drew three walks and scored all three times. Brock scored in all four of its at bats.
The Eagles’ Class 2A Region II Bi-district match is already set. Brock will host Godley in a 1-game playoff on Thursday. First pitch is set for 7:30 p.m.
