Brock extends district streak with Boyd drubbing
After dropping its first game of the season on Saturday, coming up on the short end of a 12-10 slugfest with Class 3A Kennedale, the Brock Eagles resumed district-play dominanc on Tuesday.
Led by Slaton Gough’s two hits, one a lead-off double eventually resulting in a run, all but one Brock batter hit safely in the game as the Eagles caught and passed Boyd en route to a 10-1 rout. The Yellowjackets scored first, but Brock broke ice in the third and scored in each inning the rest of the way.
Titus Gossett threw five innings for the Eagles, giving up just a single hit and an earned run while striking out nine Boyd batters. Kolbin Mills pitched two innings in relief.
Brock will host rival Peaster in the first of their two district meetings on Friday, playing a 7:30 p.m. game.
