Man arrested following shooting, manhunt

A man wanted after a shooting in Western Lake Estates late Wednesday night surrendered to authorities Thursday morning after a several-hour manhunt in the subdivision.

The shooting victim is a 48-year-old man who the Parker County Sheriff’s Office says intervened in a physical altercation between two men. He was reported to be in stable condition in intensive care following surgery in a Fort Worth hospital, where he was flown after being shot in the abdomen.

Gary Lee Martin, 25, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Parker County Jail. He remained incarcerated as of early Thursday afternoon under $20,000 bond.
