Grand jury indicts man charged with breaking into smoke shop

A Parker County grand jury last week indicted a man accused of breaking into a Weatherford smoke shop in December and stealing cigarettes.

Ross Wade Hogans, 22, was indicted on a charge of burglary of a building, a state jail felony.

He was accused of a break-in at Christy’s Smoke Shop on Dec. 30. Thirty cartons of cigarettes were reported missing by the owner.

Police charged Hogans in the burglary after receiving a tip via Crime Stoppers.

Hogans was arrested by Hudson Oaks police in February after, police say, Hogans attempted to sneak a flat screen television out of Walmart without paying for it. He and two other suspects in the shoplifting incident were arrested after a short pursuit.

Other indictments handed down March 21 include:

• Timothy Paul Baker, tampering or fabricating physical evidence.

• Amanda Virginia Bryant, possession of a controlled substance, less than a gram.

• Kenwy Marie Carry, forgery.

• Jerame Kay Drewer, possession of a controlled substance, less than a gram.

• C.A. Floyd, possession of a controlled substance, more than a gram, less than 4 grams.

• Michael David Miller, bail jumping and failure to appear.

• Jolene Shannett St Clair, possession of a controlled substance, less than a gram.

• Joseph Chester Sylvis, possession of a controlled substance, less than a gram.

• Jason Eli Thomas, assault of a family member by impeding breathing or circulation.

• Gregory Reynord J. Washington, fraudulent use or possession of identifying information and forgery.

• Scott Ryan Cedeno, possession of a controlled substance, less than a gram, in a drug free zone.

• Beverly Joanne Cropp, possession of a controlled substance, less than a gram.

• John Samuel Griffin III, indecency with a child by sexual contact and continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 years old.

• Roel Diaz Guzman Jr., assault of a family member with a previous conviction.

• Bobby Dean Hackett Jr., possession of a controlled substance, less than a gram.

• Viatress Nichole Ivory, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle.

• Jennifer Jeffrey, possession of a controlled substance, less than a gram.

• Wilbur Theryl Kelly, theft of a firearm.

• Clinton James McGinnis, manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, less than a gram.

• Michael Anthony Reiser, possession of a controlled substance, less than a gram.

• Albert Rivera, possession of a controlled substance, less than a gram.

• Russell Brian Robinson, assault of a family member by impeding breathing or circulation.

• Casey Alan Turner, possession of a controlled substance, more than 4 grams, less than 200 grams.
