Millsap girl to compete for state’s National American Miss crown

— MILLSAP – Alexandria Cheek, of Millsap, has been selected a state finalist in the National American Miss Texas pageant to take place July 26-27 at the Hotel Intercontinental in Dallas.

Alexandria, 9, is the daughter of Tyson and Elizabeth Cheek.

The contest is for young girls ages 7 to 9. The pageant winner will receive a $1,000 cash award, crown and banner, bouquet of roses and air transportation to compete in the national pageant at Disneyland in California.

Alexandria attends fourth grade at Millsap Elementary School, takes piano lessons, participates in gymnastics, plays volleyball and is involved in activities at her church. She enjoys reading, singing and playing with her friends and pets.

Her pageant sponsors are Pastafina Restaurant in Mineral Wells and Weatherford, The Brazos River Catfish Café, Maverick All Star Tumblers, Kenmark Custom Homes and Horace and Arina Cheek.
