First Financial makes donation to WC Foundation’s ‘The Time is Now For Your College’ campaign

First Financial Bank in Weatherford has announced a $75,000 donation to support the Weatherford College Foundation’s “The Time is Now For Your College” capital campaign.

“First Financial Bank always has and will continue to support the endeavors of Weatherford College whether it is supporting scholarships or building a new building,” said FFB Chairman/President and CEO Jay Gibbs. “We feel that there is no more important task than the development of our young people and no one does it better than WC.”

In recognition of the gift, the WC Board of Trustees has named the press box at the new Stuart Field softball complex the “First Financial Bank Press Box.”

“The folks at First Financial have been extremely supportive for many years,” said Brent Baker, WC vice president of institutional advancement. “They are a great example of local businesses that see the value of Weatherford College.”

WC’s “The Time is Now for Your College” campaign is raising funds to support WC scholarships, facility upgrades and other projects to benefit the college and its students. The Foundation is wrapping up its campaign with a victory celebration on Oct. 10 at 11:30 a.m. The event will coincide with the groundbreaking ceremony for the Don Allen Health Science Building.
