Local photographer charged with child indecency

Man allegedly took nude photos of 16-year-old female he met at a football game

By CHRISTIN COYNE

A Weatherford youth sports photographer was jailed Tuesday on a charge he molested a teenage girl he met at a high school football game.

Dax Anthony Morgan, 39, was booked into the Parker County Jail on a charge of indecency with a child by sexual contact and released on $25,000 bond.

After the 16-year-old high school student’s parents discovered she did not spend the night at a friend’s house, the reported victim told her parents that she went to Morgan’s house to have photographs taken of her and had stayed the night, according to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office.

The high school girl met Morgan on the sidelines of a Weatherford High School football game, according to court documents related to the investigation and arrest. Morgan eventually invited the girl to his house for a photo shoot, the girl reported to authorities.

During the photo session, he took photographs of her, both clothed and unclothed, and later persuaded her to undress before giving her a full body massage, the girl reportedly stated.

She denied that Morgan touched her sexually and said she and Morgan were in separate rooms overnight, according to the search warrant affidavit. However, the girl’s mother reportedly said she did not believe her daughter was being truthful.

The girl reportedly left a bra in Morgan’s bedroom, and a bra matching the description given to investigators was listed as seized from the residence.

Other items seized during execution of the search warrant over the weekend include a cell phone, computer equipment, digital storage devices, lotions and creams and photographs.

Investigators searched for evidence related to either suspected offense of indecency with a child or sexual performance of a child.

In addition to taking sports-related photographs, including for a local magazine, Morgan also offers other photography services, according to his website.

“Touchline Studios evolved out of a project centered around the youth in this community and their sporting activities,” the website states. “It has grown into much more. I launched Touchline Studios in 2012 as popularity and demand for my work continued to rise.”

Messages were left at both phone numbers listed and sent to his listed email address. However, the Democrat was unable to reach Morgan for comment.
