Another charge expected against photog

By CHRISTIN COYNE

Parker County officials expect to file an additional felony charge against a Weatherford photographer accused of fondling a teenage girl he invited to his home, according to court records filed last week.

An examination of photography equipment seized during the execution of a search warrant at the home of Dax Anthony Morgan in September revealed illegal pictures of the 16-year-old girl’s breasts, according to a civil case filed by the Parker County District Attorney’s office seeking forfeiture of Morgan’s camera and computer equipment.

Morgan, who often took photos at Weatherford ISD sporting events and reportedly met the victim on the sidelines of a game, was arrested on a charge of indecency with a child on Oct. 1.

The high school student told authorities that Morgan inappropriately touched her while giving her a full body massage after a private photo shoot at his home that her parents were unaware of.

A Parker County Sheriff’s investigator wrote in a sworn affidavit filed last week that investigators intend to seek a warrant for sexual performance by a child at a later date.

Shortly after bonding out of jail on the indecency charge Oct. 1, investigators allege Morgan contacted a 15-year-old girl.

Morgan’s bond conditions restrict him from having contact with a person under the age of 17 including through social media, Web-based messaging, email, text or by phone, according to the sheriff’s office.

However, a woman told police that Morgan called her daughter’s cell phone and asked for the girl before telling her not to tell anyone he called.

Morgan, arrested Oct. 4 for the alleged bond violation, was released from the Parker County Jail on Oct. 7 on $50,000 bond.

Several parents said they complained to authorities months prior to his arrest of inappropriate comments Morgan allegedly made to and regarding high school and junior high school age girls.

The Democrat was unable to reach Morgan on his cell phone Thursday.
