City map

During discussion of creating an updated city map, council members discussed an issue with the city’s legal description of the boundaries.

Several city council members, including Wood, Mayor Bruce Pinckard and council member Bruce Moore, discussed information from experts that the points of the city’s boundaries in the legal description “don’t close,” creating an issue of knowing where the city’s boundaries are.

Wood noted that many area residents don’t know if inside or outside city limits.

During the discussion, the city’s attorney, Steven Wood, recommended the council continue the discussion in executive session.

Afterward, the council voted to have a map of the city created.
