MILLSAP MATTERS: Walden’s consignment sale becoming an event

The Millsap Neighborhood Ladies Home and Garden Club had a wonderful meeting in April and is greatly looking forward to their May meeting. At the recent gathering the guest speaker was Parker County Extension Agent, Jon Green. Mr. Green graciously answered all questions about plants and gardening.

Another part of the meeting consisted of the ladies making hats, which they will wear at their May Out and About Meeting. The plans are to meet on May 1, at the Millsap Methodist Church, 9 a.m. The group will then travel to the Thurber Museum and afterwards enjoy lunch out. All area ladies are invited to attend this special event. For any questions call 940-682-4402.

The ladies extend special thanks to club member. Teresa Howard, for the hat-making project. Hope you all greatly enjoy your day out, ladies!

Here’s something new. The City of Millsap and the Ladies Home and Garden Club are going to recognize a home/yard each month, within the city limits, May through December. This is not just about the yard or foliage, but includes different aspects of the property.

Things such as new paint on the home or other structural improvements will be taken into account. We have some very pretty, well kept places around here, so the competition is going to be stiff. This is a great idea. Thanks city and garden club!

Last reminder: Holders Chapel Spring Festival is April 20 and the yard sale will start at 7 a.m. There will be a bake sale, silent auction, quilt raffle, and hot dog ($5)/hamburger ($6) lunch. There’s something for everyone, so come on out and enjoy this great event.

April 21 is the date that Glenn and Barbara Littlepage request the honor of your presence at the dedication of the new church at Littlepage Pavilion located on the north side of the Brock exit (7530 W. Interstate 20, exit 397, Weatherford). The dedication of Cutting Capital Fellowship will begin at 1 p.m. Barbara has some innovative ideas for the services, and the Littlepages are the stewards of this vision.

The Millsap Schools Reunion Committee reminds everyone homecoming will take place at the new location of Millsap Elementary School, April 27, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Bring food for the lunch at noon, and be prepared for a lot of good visiting and enjoyment.
