A man charged Thursday with capital murder in the Kaufman County District Attorney deaths earlier this year has Parker County ties.
Eric Lyle Williams, a 1985 graduate of Azle High School, was a Springtown police officer for about a year in the early ‘90s, records released by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education show.
After several months with police departments in Lakeside and White Settlement, Williams joined Springtown as a reserve officer in 1990 and was appointed as a peace officer after eight months.
He reportedly left the department in March 1991.
His peace officer license was revoked in June after he was convicted of state jail felony burglary.
