Man indicted for sexual assault

By CHRISTIN COYNE

A Parker County grand jury Thursday indicted a Parker County man accused of violently raping a woman while recording it, duct taping her and holding her in a closet at his residence near Reno in November.

Andrew Murphy Howard, 30, was indicted on felony charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, assault of a family member by impeding breathing or circulation and aggravated sexual assault.

Parker County deputies responded to a call from Howard’s residence on Yancy Lane around 11 a.m. Nov. 4.

A woman told deputies that Howard punched her in the face, placed a knife to her throat, shouted he was going to kill her and pointed a loaded rifle at her face, according to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office.

Howard then reportedly cut off her clothing with his knife, held a .22 rifle in her face and said he “ought to kill” her before forcing her to have sex with him as he recorded it on his cell phone, an investigator wrote.

Howard sexually assaulted her twice during the night before telling her to go into the closet, where he duct taped her arms, legs and mouth, the woman alleged.

The woman reportedly said Howard later released her, telling her he was sorry for what he did.

Deputies reportedly photographed injuries that included bruising to her left eye, an abrasion and scratches on her neck and a bruised upper lip.

Howard reportedly told a Parker County sheriff’s investigator that he recorded sexual acts with the woman that night with his phone.

Others indicted Thursday include:

• Johnny Lee Anthony, possession of a controlled substance, more than a gram, less than 4 grams.

• Michael Robert Arnold, assault of a family member by impeding breathing or circulation.

• William Hans Baker, injury to a child/disabled/elderly with intent to cause bodily injury.
