PET OF THE WEEK: Adoption offer to the Max

Meet Max, an Anatolian shepherd mix. Though Max is a good-sized dog he is very gentle and easy to walk on a leash.

He’s good with other dogs, ignores cats and loves people. He’s about 4 years old, weighs 71 pounds and is already neutered and vaccinated and is heartworm negative. He will also be microchipped when adopted. Feel free to bring your well-behaved dog to meet him at the shelter if you already have one looking for a playmate.

If you are interested in Max or any of his friends, they can be visited at the Weatherford Parker County Animal Shelter Tuesday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., with extended hours on Wednesday and Friday until 6 p.m. Visit the Animal Shelter’s website and see all of the available dogs at www.weatherfordtx.gov/animal.

For the month of January the shelter is running a special where all adoptions are $40 and include sterilization, vaccinations, microchip and all the love they will bring to your family.

For those who can’t adopt but would still like to help, Weatherford Parker County Animal Shelter always appreciates donations of cat litter, dog food, cat food, trash bags, cleaning supplies and monetary donations.
