LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Republicans must stop Obamacare

Republicans must stop Obamacare

Dear Editor,

The Obama Administration is promising new subsidies to cover the losses private insurance companies are facing – the same companies that lobbied for ObamaCare.

ObamaCare is falling apart at the seams and taxpayers shouldn’t be on the hook for a costly bailout.  Stopping the ObamaCare bailout could stop ObamaCare permanently.

Republicans should do everything they can to stop ObamaCare. They must support S. 1726 and H.R. 3541, the “ObamaCare Taxpayer Bailout Prevention Act.”

Sincerely,

Mervin Jules, Fort Worth

Reader backs Hammons

Dear Editor,

I want to go on record as endorsing Fred Hammons for the office of County Commissioner, Pct. 4.

Fred has more than a quarter century of real-life experience in public service.

More than 20 of those years have been spent serving as a law enforcement officer, a former volunteer firefighter, an EMT, a commercial truck driver, heavy equipment operator and a general manager for a local franchise.

As a general manager for a major restaurant franchise, Fred understands customer service and how to effectively and efficiently manage personnel and a budget. He took a once-fledgling business and turned it into a money maker for the past 10 years.

Knowing the importance of operating an efficient business and keeping good records, rest assured Fred will be a good steward of our tax dollars and, furthermore, rest assured the public will be treated congenially and with the utmost respect.

He is honest, reliable, and willing to work the long hours needed for the position. Fred won’t merely be “checking in with the office” from time to time and rarely to be seen otherwise. If you’re looking for Fred, just get out and drive the precinct. He’ll likely be the one with his sleeves rolled up working alongside his men, or up in the driver’s seat operating a piece of heavy equipment.

Sincerely,

Adrian Park, Aledo
