Lady Eagles' title string snapped

AUSTIN – The Brock Lady Eagles were unsuccessful in claiming a state-record sixth straight girls championship, losing 48-44 to Wall High School in the Class 2A title game in Austin.

Maddi Chitsey led WHS with 22 points, including two clutch free throws to put Wall up by four with 7.6 seconds to play. Rachel Harrell was the Lady Eagles' top scorer with 15. Brock post Lexie Ducat fouled out after scoring seven points and collecting five rebounds.

The loss was the Lady Eagles' first in its last 39 post-season games.
