The Texas Business Women of Parker County organization awarded six $1,000 scholarships to six deserving Parker County young women at a May 20 awards dinner.
TBW of Parker County, formerly the Weatherford Business and Professional Women, annually give scholarships to chosen applicants seeking needed financial aid in furthering their education.
This year’s recipients were Hannah Eubank, of Springtown; Maria Elisa Gomez, of Weatherford; Shelby Hamilton, of Weatherford; Heather Henson, of Poolville; Jordan Simmons, of Weatherford; and Jessica Wester, of Springtown.
Miss Eubank, daughter of Cindi Eubank, plans to attend the University of North Texas in Denton and study veterinary medicine.
Gomez and her husband, David, have three children. She will continue her studies at Weatherford College in the radiology program.
Hamilton is the daughter of Kelly Hamilton and will attend Weatherford College to pursue a career in neonatal nursing.
The daughter of Tony and Diana Henson, Heather Henson is hoping for a nursing career and will study at Tarleton State University in Stephenville.
Simmons, daughter of Lydia Simmons, also plans a career in the medical field and is attending Weatherford College.
Wester, daughter of Jimmy and Cecilia Wester, of Springtown, hopes to be a museum curator and will study art history at the University of Texas-Arlington.
