POLICE BLOTTER: Thefts, pot in drug-free zone among reports

Following are some of the offenses, investigations and calls for service reported by Weatherford police for the period 6 a.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Former roommate reportedly takes property not theirs

A man in the 300 block of South Walnut Street told police a former roommate back in August took property not belonging to them.

Reported stolen were large electrical wire staples, valued at $10; a man’s 14k or 18k gold and white gold with inlay diamonds and saphire ring, $2,000; power tools including a nail gun and trimmer valued at $890; and two drills at a combined $1,100.

Possessing pot in a drug-free zone

Police early Tuesday afternoon arrested a 16-year-old male juvenile in the 2100 block of Bethel Road on a charge of possession of marijuana under 2 ounces, reportedly within a drug-free zone. The juvenile was later released to the custody of a guardian.

Picnic table purloined

A resident in the 1400 block of Sloan Street said sometime between 3 p.m. Friday and 9 p.m. Sunday someone stole a wooden picnic table, valued at $300.

Bumbling and stumbling

Witnesses called police to the 500 block of West Russell Street about 3:46 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a woman, 28 years of age, who was seen stumbling and falling down. The woman told police she had consumed two 40-ounce cans of beer since 1 p.m. She was arrested for public intoxication.

Debit card fraud

A 58-year-old man told police that on Sunday someone fraudulently used information from his debit card to purchase goods in Allen totaling $505.

12:54 p.m., theft, 2100 block of Bethel Road.

2:32 p.m., hit-and-run wreck, 1000 block of West Lake Drive.

4:04 p.m., minor wreck, south service road at high school.

4:52 p.m., loud music disturbance, 200 block of College Park Drive.

6:22 p.m., suspicious vehicle, Lynn Street.

6:33 p.m., suspicious vehicle, Karen Street.

7:33 p.m., domestic disturbance, 100 block of West Interstate 20.

8:16 p.m., disturbance, 200 block of West Bridge Street.

8:16 p.m., disturbance, 1000 block of Jodie Drive.

10:57 p.m., suspicious vehicle, 300 block of Alpine Drive.

11:55 p.m., loud music disturbance, 300 block of South Waco Street.

Wednesday

1:05 a.m., suspicious vehicle, 200 block of West Interstate 20. Made arrest for public intoxication.

2:29 a.m., prowler, 900 block of West Bridge Street.
