Copper, wiring theft

Weatherford police were called Tuesday morning to the 1100 block of Avendale Drive in reference to a report of someone stealing copper from a house under construction.

The theft reportedly occurred between 5 p.m. on Oct. 4 and 9 a.m. Tuesday. The complainant said someone cut and stole approximately a 12-foot piece of copper tubing and approximately a 4-foot piece of electrical wiring at an estimated loss of $500.

Woman defrauded

Weatherford police received a report from Denver, Colo., where a 51-year-old woman said she deposited more than $800 in an account linked to a Weatherford bank to secure a rental property in Wisconsin but later discovered the rental property was fake and the account in Weatherford was a fraud.

Door stolen

The door to a model home was reported stolen Tuesday afternoon in the 1200 block of Burkburnett Drive. The reported theft occurred sometime Monday through 6 p.m. Tuesday. The door, unfinished with a bronze knob, was valued at $900.

Narcotics arrests

Weatherford police were called to the 100 block of North Main Street about 6 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Officers arrived in the area and located a white 2009 Chevrolet passenger vehicle with four occupants. Police determined all four were involved with the delivery of a controlled substance between 4-200 grams, seizing amounts of Oxycodone, cell phones and $2,168 cash, according to reports.

Arrested and booked into Parker County Jail were Quendon Bernard, 30; Lyonesha Gardner, 20; Rico Winston, 34; and Jason Shermaine Shanklin, 29.

Assault and meth

A report at 11:09 p.m. Tuesday concerning a person wanted by police with a firearm in their vehicle sent officers to the area of Chimney Rock and East Bankhead Highway.

The vehicle was located in the 2000 block of East Bankhead, police said. After making contact the driver, identified as a 32-year-old female, it was determined she was not wanted or armed.

However, officers learned an assault involving her had occurred in Parker County, and a deputy with the Parker County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene to take a report of the assault.
