The Fort Worth Conquers strike again

Greg Anttona has been involved with the Special Olympics for 16 years and has coached the Conquers for nine of those.

What led Coach Anttona to the Special Olympics is his son, David, who has special needs and the desire to be an athlete.

Ricky King has also coached the Fort Worth Conquers for eight years. Coach King met David and the rest is history.

Coach King said, “Coach Anttona is a good man with lots of patience.”

We have a great group of team members and here is some of their comments.

Angie Crosswhite said her daughter Savannah loves it.

Britney Manuel said she thinks the Fort Worth Conquers “is cool.” When asked how many gold medals she had, Britney Manuel said, “a lot!”

Britney has two silver medals, two ribbons, and the rest are gold.

Mrs. Niccum, Chris’s mom, said Chris looks forward to practice every Friday.

Sarah Blackwell, Daniel Blackwell’s sister, said Daniel loves it.

Ms. Wilhelm, Ben’s mom, said Ben is having a ball. Ben never bowled much before. Ben is looking forward to the local and state game he is looking forward to bringing home the gold.

I feel very honored to have joined the Fort Worth Conquers. I hope to add many, many more medals to my collection.

Mr. Anttona is one of the nicest guys and he has one of the biggest hearts.

Fort Worth Conquers team members are David Anttona, Daniel Blackwell, Savanna Crosswhite, Nick Hamilton, Brock Hibbs, Britney Manuel, Chris Niccum and Ben Wilhelm.
