— As many as 700 adults and children filled the Weatherford Ninth Grade Center’s cafeteria Friday afternoon as Weatherford ISD and the Parker County Hospital District teamed up to provide a flu shot clinic.
During the middle of the clinic, which took place 3:30-6:30 p.m., and with lines wrapped around the cafeteria, hospital district CEO Randall Young said it was one of the largest turnouts he had seen.
“It’s been this crowded since 3:15 p.m.,” he said. “When you read about someone dying from the flu, it really gets your attention. I would highly recommend anyone over the age of 30 or so, to go out and get your flu shot. If not for you, maybe for your children.”
Some were turned away late Friday but the district plans another Roos Against the Flu Night. For more information, contact the PCHD at 817-341-2520.
