Local airman earns honor

Dickey named wing’s ‘Warrior of the Week’

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Jeremy Dickey recently received “Warrior of the Week” honors from the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing, based in Alaska but currently operating in the Middle East.

Dickey is a Weatherford native and a 2004 Weatherford High School graduate. He is the son of Les and Julie Dickey, who teaches fourth grade at Ikard Elementary School.

Dickey was cited for filling an expediter position; performing an array of leadership and mechanical repair tasks; averting an engine replacement that saved $38 million and 12 man hours; leading hot pit refueling operations; and training and guaranteeing the safety of six AMU/LRS personnel and $159 million in Air Force assets.
