Walk Across Texas

Team fitness event is April 7 through May 25

Join your friends, co-workers, church members and others in Parker County and Walk Across Texas. The competition begins April 7 and ends May 25.

Visit walkacrosstexa.tamu.edu and register your team.

Walk Across Texas is a free, eight-week competition that encourages participants to establish the habit of regular physical activity. Teams can exercise together or on their own.

The goal is for the team to collectively log at least 830 miles. Teams are not required to walk or exercise together, although they may if they desire. Participants can walk, jog, swim, run or even dance.

Walk Across Texas is not a walkathon or an event to raise money. It is designed to help promote healthier living by challenging participants.

Schools can enroll just as teams do, but an entire class tracks their mileage together. There are also lesson plans and activities available.

For more information or registration forms, contact the Parker County Extension office at 817-598-6168.
