National Day of Prayer event Thursday at Ninth Grade Center

Parker County residents will mark Thursday’s National Day of Prayer with a program at the Ninth Grade Center in Weatherford.

The center is located at 1007 S. Main St. The local event will begin at 7 p.m. and include singing  patriotic songs as well as praise and worship songs led by a local praise team. Area pastors will lead prayer for people in seven areas of influence: government, education, military, media, business, family and religion.

The free event is sponsored by the nondenominational and non-partisan Kids Against Hunger Parker County.

“We are praying that this event will be much more than just another event,” said Craig Beaman, Bethel Baptist Church pastor and coordinator for the Parker County event. “We pray that our community will be changed in the way that we look at our county and nation, and that we will rediscover the importance of praying for spiritual awakening and revival.”

More information about the event and the National Day of Prayer is available at www.ndpparkercounty.org and www.nationaldayofprayer.org.
