Local artists’ works on display

The Weatherford Art Association announced the Artist of the Month for April at their Monday meeting.

First place was awarded to Dale Martin for his oil painting titled “Changing Times.” Dale’s art is on display at the first Financial Bank on the Weatherford Square until the end of May.

Second place was Sara Fino with her painting titled” Desert Beauty.” Sara’s art will hang in the lobby of the Fort Worth Community Credit Union until the end of May.

Third place was Jim Webster with his painting titled “Lurking.” Jim’s art is on display at the First National Bank lobby on Palo Pinto until the end of May.

Guest artist was Carolyn Walker, from Colorado City. Carolyn demonstrated using liquid watercolors on Yupo paper with ordinary times as resists.

Several WAA artists had work entered in the recent Arte de Los Brazos show and Crusin in Nocona art show. Vonnie Kohn, Kathy Cunning, Sara Fino sold paintings; Vonnie Kohn, Linda Whitehouse, Rebecca Glasgow and Sara Fino were awarded an honorable mention at the show.

Dale Martin, Kathy Cunning, Linda Whitehouse and Jerry Shidal entered the Crusin in Nocona art show. Kathy Cunning was awarded the Judge’s Choice Award for her watercolor “Ned’s Red Olds.”
