Woman who shot at man is arrested

Separate assaults involving weapons result in one arrest

By CHRISTIN COYNE

A Parker County woman was arrested early Wednesday morning, accused of shooting in the direction of a man during an argument.

Parker County sheriff’s deputies say the bullet missed the man and went into a neighbor’s home.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Oak Crest Drive near Weatherford after receiving a report of a domestic disturbance at the residence.

A 63-year-old man reportedly told deputies that he stepped into a bedroom doorway to speak with 70-year-old Lana Jean Miller after getting in an argument with her when he saw she had a .38-caliber revolver in her hand.

“Victim said he pulled his head back out of the room just as he heard the gun discharge,” a

responding deputy wrote.

Deputies found a bullet hole in the back bedroom door and bullet holes showing the trajectory of a round into a neighbor’s house.

Miller was arrested on a second-degree felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Parker County Jail, where bond was set at $20,000.

Two other aggravated assaults were reported in Weatherford Tuesday, as well.

Stetson Jaske, 21, was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after, Weatherford police say, a 20-year-old woman reported Jaske assaulted her while exhibiting a deadly weapon late Tuesday night.

The woman also reported that Jaske damaged her property, causing damage of more than $400.

A 29-year-old man also reported to police that an unknown person threatened him with imminent bodily injury and used or displayed a weapon during the assault around 2 a.m. at a convenience store in the 1000 block of North Main Street.

Two witnesses also reported the same suspect may have intentionally damaged the door of the business’ ice maker, according to a Weatherford police report.
