FROM STAFF REPORTS
Whether a Weatherford Kangaroo or Notre Dame Fighting Irish supporter or not, many area football fans are pulling for Kapron Lewis-Moore in the Jan. 7 BCS title game against Alabama.
The 6-4, 308-pound Lewis-Moore is a former Weatherford High School and a starting defensive end for the Irish. He graduated from Notre Dame in Maym, but was granted an additional year of football eligibility because of a previous leg injury that sidelined during the 2011 season.
“Playing for the National Championship is something pretty spectacular,” Lewis-Moore said, “and every time I’m on the field, I know I’m also representing Weatherford.”
Known by many as “Kap,” “Big Kap,” or even “Old Man Kap,” Lewis-Moore is a captain on the 2012 undefeated Irish team.
Weatherford ISD Public Information Officer Derik Moore has set up a website for fans and well-wishers to leave Lewis-Moore a message. The site will be up until noon on Monday, Dec. 31. The site is located here.
Moore has also provided a link to a Lewis-Moore photo gallery from his Weatherford High School senior season, located here.
