WHS grapplers host Outback Invitational

In its final home appearance on the season, the Weatherford boy’s wrestling teams hosted the Outback Invitational last weekend.

With a dozen teams in the field of varsity teams, Weatherford’s Kason Bratcher took first in his division, with Teancum Payne earning a second-place finish and a third earned by Nester Oviedo.

The junior varsity boys enjoyed success, as well, with Brandon Strand, Evan Forsyth, Stoney Palmer, Malcom Sutton, Wyatt Eckstrom and Austin Foster earning firsts in the 14-team field. Taking second were Cason Barnes, Lain Baird, Ty Fox, Tanner Davis and Ignacio Oropeza. WHS also had a slew of third-place finishes by Dakota West, Jacob Fetterolf, Sam Mason, Reid Weeks and Grayson Adams.

Roo wrestlers return to the mat on Thursday, traveling to Keller to take on Fossil Ridge and Euless Trinity.
