Cool-Garner VFD’s Pink Ribbon Fill the Boot fundraiser is Saturday

GARNER – Members of the Cool-Garner VFD will be dressed in pink T-shirts Saturday collecting donations to help Parker County women who can’t afford a mammogram.

Area residents can donate during the Pink Ribbon Fill the Boot drive taking place 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Garner store, located at 2305 FM Road 113 North in Garner.

All proceeds will go the Parker County Health Foundation, a non-profit that partners with Careity Foundation to provide the breast cancer early detection service to women in need.

The department has been looking for a way to become more involved in breast cancer awareness month and hopes to make it an annual October tradition, Capt. Cody Robertson said.
