HUDSON OAKS — Former Weatherford Director of Management and Budget Chad Janicek has taken over the assistant city administrator position in Hudson Oaks.
Janicek, who was with the City of Weatherford for more than four years, took over the post earlier this month to start the new fiscal year. Janicek, who also spent two years in the City of Fort Worth budget office before coming to Weatherford, began his career in Weatherford in the Public Works department before moving into the Management and Budget office two years ago.
Hudson Oaks City Administrator Patrick Lawler said the city had more than 80 applicants for the position, which Lawler said speaks volumes for how far the city has come over the last six or seven years. He said five applicants were interviewed for the position, with Janicek the lone finalist.
Lawler was assistant city administrator before moving into the city administrator spot earlier this year.
With Janicek’s experience in the budget arena, there has been some shifting in the organizational chart within the city. Lawler will be in charge of police, utilities and economic development, with Janicek handling parks, facilities and streets along, with internal services, including budgeting and human resources.
Lawler said Janicek brings a wealth of experience to the city through the relationships he developed in from his time in Weatherford and Fort Worth, and his years of budget experience in both cities.
“We’re real excited to have someone of Chad’s caliber from a professional standpoint,” Lawler said.
“Being here in Hudson Oaks will give me a chance to grow,” Janicek said. “Hudson Oaks is a unique place as city government goes. It’s a lean organization but is very forward thinking with its focus on the big picture. It’s going to be exciting working with that kind of organization.”
