POLICE BLOTTER: Weatherford police report recent activities

Vehicle burglary

A vehicle burglary reportedly occurred between 1 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of Vine Street. The vehicle’s back window was broken, at a reported loss of $265. A tool box, containing $500 worth of hand tools, was missing, according to police.

Scaffolding heist

Theft of scaffolding, valued at $300, reportedly occurred sometime after 4:30 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday at a construction site in the 2000 block of Clear Creek Drive.

One way to leave

A 22-year-old man who reportedly refused to leave a store was arrested and charged with criminal trespass.

Weatherford police were called to a business in the 1100 block of Fort Worth Highway at 9:44 p.m. Tuesday where a female clerk said a man inside the store had cursed at her and others. Hayden Rasor, 22, of Weatherford, told police he simply wanted to buy an item.

Because of his refusal to leave, Rasor was arrested and placed in Parker County Jail, where he was released Wednesday afternoon after posting $750 bond.

Home burglary

Burglary of a residence reportedly took place between 12:45 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of West Russell Street, where a ring, valued at $60, and two sets of headphones were reported stolen.

Elderly fraud

A woman reported to police that someone during the past several months fraudulently used the name, Social Security number and birth date of an 86-year-old relative to obtain a loan with the intent to defraud the victim. The identity theft reportedly occurred in Wichita, Kan.

Paraphernalia possession

At 1:30 p.m. Monday, a Weatherford officer reportedly saw a car traveling east on Vine Street bearing an expired motor vehicle inspection sticker and stopped it, making contact with the vehicle’s driver and occupants. After reportedly obtaining consent verbal consent to search the vehicle from the 48-year-old owner, a metal tin, wrapped in black tape with magnets, that contained a trace amount of a crystalline substance that tested positive for methamphetamine was allegedly found. The owner was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.
